The College is full to the brim with the latest specialist equipment and resources needed to ensure that you can achieve the best results in your course, develop your creative skills and stretch yourself to your full potential. We have unique space and facilities which means that you don’t have to waste time waiting for studio or equipment.
All courses have their own specialist resources, dedicated studios, workshops and IT facilities with appropriate software and peripheral equipment such as printers, scanners, digital cameras and camcorders. Highly skilled and friendly technical staff are present on all courses to advise and assist you.
The College’s IT facilities are excellent with latest software, latest operating systems and helpful I.T Technicians on hand to help demonstrate computer software.
Your studies will be aided by our brand new specialist Art & Design Library. Stock includes over 25,000 books, 100 current magazines and journals and 1600 DVDs.
In addition, a wealth of online resources are also available, such as access to over 10,000 magazines, newspapers and e-books. We have our own collection of e-books, which is frequently updated and offer a DVD rental facility. The Library has colour and black and white photocopying facilities and a full computer suite.
You are supported by our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) Blackboard, where you can access a wealth of learning materials, and study skills website and additional information will supplement your studies.
We also have an on-site shop called the Art Box which sells a wide range of art and design materials at discounted prices. If this isn’t enough, every student coming to CCAD receives a student welcome pack containing course specific art equipment. This is incredibly popular with students as we pass on the savings from buying supplied in bulk, making it cheaper to buy the best paper, brushes, pencils and other materials.
Alongside our student atrium social space, you can enjoy breaks and lunchtimes in our Art Café, which offers a variety of food from early morning cooked breakfasts to hot lunches. Hot and cold snacks and drinks are available throughout the day and all prices are subsidised to ensure you get value for money. The Art Café also has vending machines placed around the College for students’ convenience.
