FASHION DESIGNER INSPIRES YOUNG CREATIVE ON VISIT HOME

A final year fashion student from a specialist art and design college in the north east, looking to pursuing a career in the fashion industry after graduation, is now even more determined to succeed after being inspired by a visit from a leading young designer.

Hannah Johnston, 21 from Acklam in Middlesbrough is studying for a BA (Hons) Fashion at Cleveland College of Art and Design (CCAD)’s university-level campus in Hartlepool, and was one of a group of students to experience life in the real world of design and retail from former CCAD student and fashion designer, Claire Barrow.Read more

ART COLLEGE WAS THE FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS FOR FORMER STUDENTS

Two former students from a leading north east art and design college have used their foundation studies as a stepping stone to success and are now making waves in the illustration and fashion photography business.

Jamie Kirk, 24 from Redcar and 31-year-old Ben Benoliel from Saltburn both studied for their foundation diploma in art and design at Cleveland College of Art and Design’s (CCAD) campus on Green Lane in Middlesbrough, before going on to further study and developing successful careers in the creative arts.

SUCCESS LEADS TO SECOND ART EXHIBITION FOR PINK STEAM

A collaboration of young art students and north east artists has led to a second exhibition by arts and music company Pink Steam Production, which will run for one month.

Following the success of the Pink Steam one night exhibition in February, the same students from Cleveland College of Art & Design (CCAD) are exhibiting a collection of pieces – including a new range of work – to be unveiled at a preview night on Thursday 5th May, from 7pm at the House of Blah Blah in Exchange Square in Middlesbrough.Read more

UK Quality Mark for Cleveland College of Art and Design

The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) has confirmed the quality and standards of provision at Cleveland College of Art and Design (CCAD) following its review in February.

A team of QAA reviewers visited CCAD and judged that its academic standards, the quality of its student learning opportunities, and the quality of information about its learning opportunities all meet UK expectations. The enhancement of its student learning opportunities is commended.Read more
